Kedves “tédékázók”!
Október 16-án (éjfélkor) lesz az őszi Biológus TDK (BTDK) konferencia absztraktjainak leadási határideje. Sokan már biztos eldöntötték, hogy szeretnének indulni, sokan esetleg vacillálnak, néhányan pedig inkább most nem indulnának, mert nem érzik elegendőnek az eddigi eredményeiket. Most elősorban az utóbbi két csoportot szeretnénk meggyőzni, hogy most (is) van értelme elindulni és részt venni a konferencián.
A BTDK Konferencia mindenekelőtt és -felett egy konferencia, azaz egy olyan esemény, ahol a tudományé, a tudományos eredményekről szóló konstruktív párbeszédé a főszerep. Akik már jártak ilyen eseményen, azok tudják, hogy az ilyen párbeszédek alapvetően előremutatóak, a konstruktív kritika, a „külső szemlélő” perspektívája nem egyszer vezetett sokkal érdekesebb és jobb eredményekhez később. Ezen túl potenciálisan fontos kollaborációk indulhatnak ki egyszerű konferencia-beszélgetésekből. Ennek megfelelően mindenkit biztatnánk, hogy a kísérleti tervét és eredményeit nyugodtan merje bemutatni – nem az a célunk, hogy csak „cikkre kész” adatokkal találkozzunk, a kutatási folyamat bármely pontján levő munkák értékes adalékai lehetnek a Konferenciának.
Hogy extra motivációt is adjunk, ahogy tavaly, az idén is résztvevők (reményeink szerint) valódi díjakban (könyvek, könyvutalványok) is részesülnek.
Szóval mindenkit, aki saját kutatást végez, nagy szeretettel várunk! A tudomány alapvetően kollaboratív tevékenység, ezt fogja az őszi BTDK Konferencia is tükrözni. Ne feledjétek, október 16. csak az absztraktleadás határideje, így még mindenkinek bőven lesz ideje elkészíteni a dolgozatot (annak a leadási határideje október 30. lesz).

Dear students,
the deadline for the abstract submission for our yearly Student Science Conference is coming soon, on 16th October. Hopefully some of you have already decided to submit your work, or are at least considering to do so. We will try to provide some incentives here that might persuade those in the latter group that it is worthy to show your results.
The “BTDK Conference” – as it is colloquially known – is first and foremost a scientific endeavour. A conference where people can present and discuss their results with others, also interested in science. Those who participated already in scientific conferences will surely know that quite often the comments and the fresh eyes of an intrigued colleague can have a beneficial influence on the whole research project. It has never been our goal to display only “publication-ready” material. Research projects at any other point can be interesting, and if you have put in the long hours into your work, you should be ready to show it.
To incentivise participation (hopefully) we will able to distribute book vouchers and other small gifts amongst the participants, just as we did last year.
We are looking forward to welcome everyone who are doing active research! Science is a collaborative process, and we will do our best so the conference will reflect this. Do not forget that 16th October is only the abstract submission deadline, so you will have plenty of time to prepare your work (the study submission deadline is 30th October).
